Summary of Aluminum Tariff of March 2018
On March 8th 2018, The Trump Administration announced a 10% tariff on aluminum imports. This tariff exempted imports of aluminum from Mexico and Canada and went into effect on March 23rd 2018.
On March 22nd 2018, The Trump Administration announced temporary exclusions to this aluminum tariff. This exclusion applies until May 1st 2018, and includes:
- European Union member countries, and
- South Korea.
This aluminum tariff impacts Multi-Pack Solutions and all other businesses that use aluminum in the United States. We have initiated actions with our vendors to mitigate these impacts.
